Tung Pui-Sun 董培新

For over six decades, Tung Pui-Sun has shaped how generations encounter Chinese pulp fiction worlds. From the paperback covers and serialized comics that defined Hong Kong's golden age of publishing industry to the ink paintings now held in museums and private collections, his work bridges popular illustration and fine art, mass culture and classical tradition.

Tung became one of Hong Kong's most prolific illustrators before turning to contemporary ink painting. His narrative-driven paintings draw from wuxia novels, classical epics, and literary traditions, translating decades of visual storytelling into brush and ink.
