From Pages to Walls
Since 2000, Tung Pui-Sun's ink paintings have been exhibited across Asia and North America, moving from the pages of popular fiction into galleries and museums. What once circulated as book covers and newspaper illustrations now occupies museum walls—inviting a different kind of encounter.
Seeing his work in person reveals what reproduction cannot capture: the weight and velocity of brushwork, the subtle gradations of ink wash, the physical presence of figures rendered at scale. His exhibitions trace a sustained practice, offering an opportunity to witness how decades of visual storytelling translate into contemporary ink painting.

2000年起，董培新的水墨畫作陸續在亞洲及北美各地展出，從流行小說的紙頁走進畫廊與博物館。昔日的書籍封面與報章插畫，如今懸於展牆之上，以另一種方式與觀者相遇。

Jin Yong at Tung Pui-Sun's Exhibition Jin Yong (Louis Cha) visiting Tung Pui-Sun's exhibition of paintings based on his wuxia novels. The author is seen examining the visual interpretations of his literary characters and narratives, marking a significant moment of collaboration between writer and artist. This meeting in 2006 followed Jin Yong's 2005 authorization for Tung to create paintings of his novel's characters—a project that brought together two artists who had worked for rival newspapers during the height of Jin Yong's serial novel publications but never collaborated until decades later. 金庸蒞臨董培新畫展 金庸（查良鏞）親臨以其武俠小說為題的董培新畫展，細賞筆墨之間對其筆下人物與故事的重新演繹。此次相聚攝於2006年，意義深遠。早在2005年，金庸已正式授權董培新以其小說人物為題創作畫作。兩人同為香港文化界的重要人物，當年各為競爭對手的報館效力，卻從未有機會合作，直至數十年後，方藉這批畫作，成就了作家與藝術家之間一段遲來的相遇。
